“Not one of us start off knowing how to parent for every circumstance – myself included!  I am a mother of two children – now both adults – and I stumbled and fumbled through my early years of parenting.

To be a good mom, I thought I had to use shame and guilt to be sure my children knew I was angry if they crossed my rigid boundaries.   I would yell and then feel horrible.  I wanted to parent differently, but I didn’t know how.  As I noticed my confidence decreasing and my stress increasing I started searching for a better way.   I ended up at a lecture about parenting and met an amazing parenting mentor.  I joined her parenting education program and was on a new path.  With new information, I was able to start responding to parenting challenges with respect, grace and truth –…
